The objective of the project is to identify the needs of asylum seekers in reception and integration processes. The research is expected to uncover the needs of asylum seekers, the effectiveness of the projects targeting them and register relevant best practices. The exploitation of the results from the Asylum Service and the organizations involved in asylum issues is expected to add value and quality in reception and integration actions targeting asylum seekers. Consequently, those progresses will be reflected on the alleviation of domestic social cohesion and the reduction of discrimination and marginalization of asylum seekers. The dissemination of the research results can be a leverage of pressure towards decision makers and a medium of raising awareness within the local society in relation to the asylum seekers’ right on social justice and integration.
