The consulting firm INNOVADE in collaboration with the international research centre CARDET received support for the action “Upgrade of the guide with general information about Cyprus” (Action A4, European Fund for the Integration of third-country nationals, Annual Program 2013)”. The project was awarded to the consortium following an open call of Solidarity Funds of the Ministry of Interior under the European Integration Fund for the Third Country Nationals (TCNs).
The action will upgrade, translate and print an Information Guide with general information about Cyprus in English, Russian and Filipino. The content of the Guide will be updated based on the topics that the Contracting Authority set and will include: general information about Cyprus (geography, history, culture, economy, political system, education, weather, etc); a professional guide; a section on basic rights, protection and responsibilities of migrants TCNs; information regarding legal entry, residence, medical services, social security system in Cyprus; information about employment and labor issues; banking issues and information for opening a bank account and utility accounts (electricity, water, telephone); and a section with useful contacts (emergency numbers, hospital and health centres, immigration and labour departments across Cyprus, etc.).
The updated version of the Guide will be printed in a number of copies and distributed to the proposed from the Contracting Authority services, authorities and organisations: the Civil Registry and Migration Services, the Aliens and Immigration Unit, Non-Governmental Organisations, Governmental Departments and Services interacting with TCNs and various Local Authorities (municipalities, community councils).
The consortium partners designed, developed, printed and distributed successfully the Information Guide about Cyprus in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Therefore, the present Guide will be upgraded and developed based on the consortium experiences from the development of the previous ones.
The action “Upgrade of the guide with general information about Cyprus” (Action A4, European Fund for the Integration of third-country nationals, Annual Program 2013) is co-funded by the European Integration Fund (95%) and the Republic of Cyprus (5%).
